How we clean

How an Inside Visit Runs

Protect the room first, then clean the glass. In that order, every time.

  1. 01

    Protect

Shoe covers go on at the door and a microfiber towel goes down at each sill to catch drips.

  2. 02

    Dust first

Frames and sills are dusted before any liquid touches the glass, so grit never gets dragged across it.

  3. 03

    Scrub & squeegee

The pane is scrubbed, then pulled dry edge to edge with a squeegee.

  4. 04

    Wipe & check

Sills, frames and inside tracks are wiped, then each window is checked in natural light.

Inside your home

Clean glass inside, and a room left the way we found it

Letting someone into your home to clean is a different ask than having them work outside. You want to know where they'll walk, what they'll touch, and whether the carpet under the window will still be dry when they leave. So this page starts there: how a Berry Bros technician works inside your house, and then what the glass itself gets.

Short answer to the question people search most: yes, window cleaners clean the inside of windows, and we do it carefully. Inside glass, frames, sills and tracks are all part of an interior clean.

How we protect your floors, furniture and walls

Most of what can go wrong on an interior job happens around the glass, not on it: a wet footprint, a drip running down the wall, a bumped lamp. Our routine is built to prevent those before they start.

  • Shoe covers at the door. They go on before the technician steps inside and stay on for the whole visit, on hardwood, tile and carpet alike.
  • A microfiber towel at every sill. Before a window gets cleaned, a towel is laid along the sill. Any drip that runs down the glass lands there instead of on your trim, wall or floor.
  • Sill items moved and put back. Picture frames, plants and the little things that live on windowsills are set aside while we work and returned afterward.
  • Furniture: your call. As a courtesy, we suggest moving large pieces like a couch or a desk away from the windows before we arrive. It isn't required. If you'd rather not, the crew will move it for you.

Insured, inside and out. Berry Bros carries general liability insurance, and we can send proof of insurance on request.

Room by room: what builds up on inside glass

Inside glass doesn't get rained on or hit by sprinklers, but it collects its own kind of mess, and every room has a different one.

Kitchen

Cooking puts a thin, slightly greasy film on nearby windows. You don't notice it until the afternoon sun hits the pane and the whole thing looks foggy. It needs a real scrub, not a quick spray and wipe, which tends to just move the film around.

Living room and back-wall windows

Many newer North DFW homes have a wall of glass facing the backyard. When those windows catch the morning or evening sun, every smudge and dust streak shows.

Sliding doors and kid-height glass

Little hands and dog noses work at about knee height. Back doors to the patio or pool usually take the most fingerprints in the house, and they get the same scrub and squeegee as every other pane.

Bedrooms and offices

These windows tend to just collect dust, cobwebs in the corners, and the occasional bug on the sill. Quick to clean, and you'll notice the difference in the morning light.

The clean itself, from first look to final check

  1. Walk-through. The technician looks over the rooms with you, notes any fragile or cracked panes, and sees which pieces of furniture sit close to the glass.
  2. Prep the window. Sill items come off, a microfiber towel goes down, and the frame and sill are dusted first. Dusting before washing keeps loose grit from being dragged across the pane.
  3. Scrub. A T-bar or microfiber scrubber works cleaning solution over the glass to break up film and fingerprints.
  4. Squeegee and detail. The pane is pulled dry edge to edge, and the corners and edges are finished by hand with a dry towel so no drip line is left behind.
  5. Sills, frames and tracks. These get wiped down as part of the same window, not saved for "if there's time." Read more about window track cleaning.
  6. Final check in daylight. Each window is looked at with natural light coming through it, because that's how you'll see it. Anything missed gets touched up before we pack up.

The water-fed pole we use outside stays outside. Indoor glass is cleaned by hand, pane by pane.

You'll get a text 1–2 days before the appointment and another when we're on the way, so you can plan around the visit.

Inside + outside: why most homes book both

Here's the frustrating part about cleaning only one side: you can't tell which side the dirt is on until you've cleaned one. Wipe the inside of a pane that's dusty outside and it still looks hazy. Have the outside done while the inside is covered in fingerprints and the view still looks smudged.

Doing both on the same visit is what makes a window look like nothing is there. It's also simpler for you: one appointment, one set of texts, one guarantee. Pair this with exterior window cleaning and the screens come off, get cleaned and go back in while the glass is done on both sides. See what goes into that on our window screen cleaning page.

Every customer is covered by our clean-windows guarantee: if anything isn't right, call within 7 days of the appointment and we'll come back and fix it free.

How often to have inside windows cleaned

Most homes do well with interior cleaning once or twice a year, often lined up with a spring and fall exterior clean. Spring is when oak pollen settles on inside sills from open windows, and fall is ragweed season. Glass doors and windows at kid or pet height can need it more often.

Exteriors usually need more frequent attention in North Texas. That's where a service plan helps: you're put on the schedule once and never have to rebook, and every visit is discounted ($125 on Monthly, $75 on Quarterly, $50 on Biannual). Curious what drives the price for your home? Our window cleaning cost guide walks through it.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do window cleaners clean inside windows too?

Yes. Berry Bros cleans interior glass along with the inside frames, sills and tracks. Many customers book interior and exterior on the same visit so both sides of the glass are clean at once.

Do I need to move furniture before you come?

It's not required. As a courtesy, we suggest moving large furniture away from the windows before the visit. If you'd rather not, the crew will move it for you.

How do you keep my floors clean?

The technician wears shoe covers for the whole visit, and a microfiber towel is laid along each sill to catch any drips before they reach your walls or floor.

Are sills and frames included?

Yes. Sills, frames and the inside tracks are wiped down as part of every interior clean. Dusting them happens first, so grit never gets pulled across the glass.

Should I get the inside and outside cleaned at the same time?

It's what we recommend. Dirt on either side makes the whole window look dirty, so cleaning one side alone rarely gives you the clear view you're after.

How often should interior windows be cleaned?

For most homes, once or twice a year is enough. Sliding doors and windows at kid or pet height may need it more often.

What if I spot a streak after you leave?

Call us within 7 days of the appointment and we'll come back and fix it free. That clean-windows guarantee covers every customer.
